Jordanian election success set for reprise

Following the high turnout in Jordan’s first general election for two years, King Abdullah has announced that he is to issue a decree calling for weekly parliamentary polls. The General Elections will occur each Wednesday for as long as the King’s Loyalist Party continues to pool the most votes.

Supporters of the weekly elections maintain that they will serve as proof that democracy is alive and well in the Middle East.
