Chad
has nuclear arsenal
The
CIA has published a report claiming that the Republic of Chad
has produced weapons of mass destruction. According to a CIA
source, US spy satellites have spotted what looks like an underground
missile launching facility in the desert outside the city of
Mongo.
Chad, a former colony of France, with which it maintains strong
trade ties, is understood to be increasingly annoyed at the
lack of attention it has been receiving from the world’s
superpower in recent months.
Only last week President Lt. Gen. Idriss Deby told his parliament:
‘We cannot continue to play second fiddle to the likes
of Iraq, Syria, Congo or Zimbabwe. It seems that in order to
attract President Bush’s attention we must up the stakes.
Soon the world will know the name Chad, and I don’t refer
to US voting anomalies.’
Pentagon spokesman, Steven Massicamo, responded to the latest
developments in Chad, telling reporters: ‘This is just
what we’d expect from a country so closely linked to France,
especially one which has deliberately cultivated uranium in
its deserts. We propose to challenge Chad to hand over all its
uranium mines to US control.’
President Deby is said to be ‘delighted’ that Chad’s
profile is now so high. '
